Stake Lot

What are the dimensions of the parking lot in ft and how many square ft is the top surface area of the lot?
the vertices of a proposed rectangular parking lot ABCD have been marked on the land with stakes. The parking spaces are rectangles each measuring 8ft wide and 15ft long. Adjacent parking spaces share a 15ft side. exactly 7 increments measuring 8ft have been marked on each of the sides AB and CD to show the width of each parking space. Between these two rows of parking spaces is a 20ft wide aisle in which cars can drive through the lot.

The Outsider Edge.
Here's an interesting theory that you may want to consider when browsing through the race cards looking for that ever-elusive winner. When a trainer has two horses running in the same race, it's quite possible that stable's second string might just win.
Now I'm not suggesting that you go out and place a huge bet on every trainer's outsider horse in these races, but it would be worth having a closer look at these horses form, and if the prices are long enough, a small each-way bet wouldn't break the bank.
I have noticed quite a few long-priced, second string horses winning or placing over the past 18 months, and dabbling with a small betting bank placing each way bets here and there using small stakes would be advisable. Not every bet will produce a result, but those that do will return enough to cover the lost stake money plus make a small profit.
What you need to look for in a race is this – a trainer is running two horses in the same race, one of which is very well fancied and may even be the favourite, and the other one, not so much. Sometimes the odds on the outsider can be as large as 33-1, but more often than not they are usually 3rd or 4th favourite, but can still be offered at prices worth an each way bet.
If you feel the horse's form works out well, then take little gamble. The occasional winner at a larger price should more than make up for the smaller stakes you would lose on those who don't quite make it. Betting each way in most cases will ensure your stake money is paid back if the price is right.
How far would you travel to win a couple of grand?
As we know, horse racing can be an expensive business, a very expensive business indeed!
We are not just talking about the costs of buying a horse, or its schooling and training, stable fees, vets bills and suchlike, but the actual costs involved in travelling to and from race courses.
It must cost a pretty penny to move horses to and from race meetings, especially now with the high cost of fuel to factor into the equasion.
Do you really think it would be worth a trainers while to pack up a horse and drive it to a meeting over 100 miles away if they didn't think it had a fair chance of winning?
If you take a look at the Racing Post website under the Travellers Checks section, it will list how far each trainer is travelling to each race meeting. And this can tell tell us an awful lot about the chances of some horses at these meetings.
What you need to keep an eye out for when checking the travelling distances are trainers who have only one runner at the meeting, but has also travelled over 100 miles to get there.
The next thing to check is the value of the race these single runners are entered into. If it's quite a low grade race with prize money under £5,000, then it hardly seems worth the trouble and expense of the trip unless the trainer is very confident of getting a result, and is taking a stable gamble on the outcome to make it worth their while.
When you spot a potential horse that fits this bill, and if you can watch the live betting markets, look to see if the price of the horse shortens as the race approaches. This is a good indication that there is some serious money going on for a win.
Worth a flutter don't you think?
